HOMETOWN: Coventry, UK CLASS YEAR: 2018 MAJOR: Undecided GAP YEAR: Worked on an organic farm near Marseille, France before heading to Burkina Faso, West Africa to volunteer with the National Paralympic Committee as a researcher. I then backpacked across Northern China and then followed the East Australian coast from Sydney to Cairns. I lived with a host family, attended a Gymnasium (German high school), and focused on learning the language and culture. When time allowed, I enjoyed exploring new cities. HOMETOWN: Uberlandia, Brazil CLASS YEAR: 2018 MAJOR: Film and Media Culture GAP YEAR: Living in Rio de Janeiro and sharing a house with people from 5 different countries, I volunteered in project that helped favelas of Rio, I joined a nucleus of scientific research, produced a documentary, interned at a film production company, created a crowdfunding campaign, and produced a show that premiered at a theatre in my hometown.
